Scary street names don’t spook buyers.
- Halloween is big business and the UK is projected to spend over £1bn with more than 56% of the population taking part in the fun. Gen Z is expected to spend the most with 87% planning to spend £46 each.
- Some places are spookier than others and fortunately, scary names haven’t put buyers off in those places. Roads named ‘Axe Lane’ have averaged £795k this year, closely followed by ‘Bloodgate Hill’ (£668k) and ‘Bones Lane’ (£638k).

Harlow does not have any ‘nailed on’ Halloween named streets, roads and avenues does it?

Are there any haunted houses in Harlow?
Firstly, Harlow may not be able to achieve the notoriety of Pluckley in Kent, BUT, it does have the Green Man Hotel in Old Harlow.
Secondly, The Green Man Hotel in Harlow is thought to be haunted by a bereaved mother who continues to search for her child who sadly died.
It is thought her powerful desire to have children led her to forge an adulterous relationship with the local blacksmith.
She fell pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl but sadly, the girl was tragically burnt to death in a fire.
To this day, it is thought the mother is still looking for her child in the 600-year old coaching Inn.
