Harlow crime rate All Crimes

Jukes Estate Agents Harlow bring to an end their in depth look at crime rates in Harlow and where it sits in the bigger picture of Essex and surrounding areas.

Sales and Marketing Director Geoff Flewers explains why: “Harlow often gets a bad press and whilst some of it is deserved, some of it definitely is not! We thought we would look at crime rates in Harlow and see how it compares to the rest of Essex & some close by towns. I accept that even one crime is one too many BUT, Harlow in the main does not come out too badly. We will look at various crimes in different blogs”.

Firstly, Anti Social Behaviour was our first blog that was published on 12th February

Secondly, Burglary was done on the same day

Our third blog on 13th February we looked at Criminal Damage & Arson.

On the 15th we looked at Drugs.

The 16th February saw us publish Possession of Weapons.

Robbery came next.

Then on the 22nd February it was Vehicle Theft.

The 23rd saw Violent Crime.

Finally, today we will look at All Crimes.

Conclusion

Yes, all crimes rates in the UK are too high. However, the whole reason behind our series of blogs on crime is because Harlow, in our opinion gets a bad press when it comes to crime. OK, some of the criticism is justified BUT, who would have guessed that Harlow has NONE of its postcode sectors in the top 10 Essex hot spots and only two of its sectors get into the top 25!

Overall Harlow comes in at 121% of the average national crime rate for All Crimes. That is lower than many Essex towns including Southend, Clacton, Chelmsford, Basildon, Grays, Tilbury and Colchester.

It also rates lower on crime than some of its Hertfordshire neighbours like: Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Cuffley, Ware (SG12 7) and Goffs Oak.

Therefore, as Harlow residents, we all perhaps need to do more to help the Harlow crime rate by being more diligent and joining neighbourhood watch schemes etc. But, the knockers should realise that the are MANY places they could live that are far worse off than Harlow.
