Many people think that Harlow will top the charts for all types of crimes in Essex. The following data is for burglary offences in the last 12 months and is supplied by Plumpot (https://a.plumplot.co.uk/).

So CM17 0 is in the top 10 hot spots for burglary in Essex. With high property prices, this is hardly surprising as a lot of the top 10 burglary hot spots are in affluent areas such as Chigwell, Abridge & The Bures.

Its overall performance is 108% of the national average. Therefore, is is marginally higher for burglary than the national average. When you consider that Bishop’s Stortford comes in at 99%, Harlow will be surprisingly lower than a lot of people expected.

Once again, there’s no doubt that burglary is too high in Harlow. But it is much higher in many parts of Essex.
