Harlow crime rate Criminal Damage and Arson
Jukes Estate Agents Harlow continue their in depth look at crime rates in Harlow and where it sits in the bigger picture of Essex and surrounding areas.
Sales and Marketing Director Geoff Flewers explains why: “Harlow often gets a bad press and whilst some of it is deserved, some of it definitely is not! We thought we would look at crime rates in Harlow and see how it compares to the rest of Essex & some close by towns. I accept that even one crime is one too many BUT, Harlow in the main does not come out too badly. We will look at various crimes in different blogs”.
Firstly, Anti Social Behaviour was our first blog that was published on 12th February
Secondly, Burglary was done on the same day
Today we look at Criminal Damage & Arson.
Next we will look at Drugs.
Then it will be Possession of Weapons.
Followed by Robbery.
Then it’s Vehicle Theft.
Penultimately Violent Crime.
Finally, we will look at All Crimes.

Conclusion
Harlow has none of its postcode sectors in the top 10.
It has 3 in the top 25, 2 in the top 50 and 4 in the top 100.
Whilst this is still too high, it shows that Harlow fairs much better than towns like Basildon, Southend on Sea, Colchester & Clacton on Sea. It even fairs better than Wickford and Chadwell St Mary. It is on an even par with the likes of Grays and Chelmsford.
At the risk of repeating ourselves, this is a widespread problem, not just Harlow!
Go to somewhere like Saffron Walden where the crime rate is only 43% of the national average and you find that the average property price is £526,000.
